What We Do

At Heroes Help, we stand by the brave men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces — past and present — and their families. Our work is focused on addressing the unique and often under-acknowledged challenges that come with military life. From mental health and physical rehabilitation to education, family support, housing, and career transition, we provide specialist, life-changing support across a wide spectrum of needs.

We serve all branches of the Nigerian military — Army, Navy, and Air Force — and are committed to helping service members, veterans, widows, children, and caregivers thrive beyond service. Our programmes are not only compassionate but also strategic, designed to build resilience, restore dignity, and empower beneficiaries for long-term success.

We deliver this work through a holistic, community-rooted model that integrates counselling, training, outreach, policy advocacy, and emergency aid — all backed by data and driven by impact.

💰How We Spend Our Money

Transparency and accountability are at the core of everything we do. Every naira we receive is carefully directed to programmes that have a measurable and meaningful impact. We allocate funds across six major areas of support: Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing, Physical Rehabilitation, Family & Community Support, Welfare & Benefits, Transition & Empowerment, and Education & Youth Development.

We keep administrative costs low, so the maximum proportion of funding goes directly to frontline services. Regular audits, impact reports, and donor briefings help us maintain financial integrity and build trust with every supporter, partner, and beneficiary.

🌍Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)

We believe that true support must be inclusive and equitable. Our EDI commitment ensures that every person — regardless of rank, gender, ethnicity, ability, or background — has equal access to the care and opportunities we offer.

We take proactive steps to reach marginalised voices within the military community, including widows, children with disabilities, ethnic minorities veterans. Our team reflects the diversity we champion, and we regularly review our practices to remain inclusive, relevant, and just.

🛡️Safeguarding

Safeguarding is a non-negotiable pillar of our operations. We work with vulnerable individuals who often face psychological, physical, and financial hardship. As such, we uphold strict safeguarding policies to protect all our beneficiaries — especially children, at-risk adults, and trauma survivors.

All staff, volunteers, and partners undergo rigorous safeguarding training and vetting. We maintain clear protocols for reporting concerns, and we are committed to a culture of safety, confidentiality, and respect across all our services.
