Heroes-Help is a non-governmental organization dedicated to delivering specialized, lifelong assistance to serving military personnel, veterans, and their families. The organization works across the Army, Navy, and Air Force communities, providing tailored interventions that address real-life challenges faced by those who serve or have served.
OUR VISION: A nation where every member of the armed forces community veterans, serving personnel, and their families feels valued, supported, and empowered.
OUR MISSION: To provide life-changing support to the armed forces community, ensuring access to services, opportunities, and networks that build resilience, dignity, and well-being.
OUR THEMATIC AREAS:
1. Health, Mental Wellness & Rehabilitation
2. Housing, Legal & Crisis Support
3. Transition, Empowerment & Capacity Building
4. Education, Training & Youth Development
5. Family, Community & Social SupportIn March 2025, the State Coordinator conducted a site assessment, which revealed that over 45% of classrooms at these schools were in dire condition, suffering from leaking roofs, broken windows and doors, cracked floors, damaged blackboards, and insufficient seating. Such conditions severely compromised learning outcomes, as well as the health, safety, and dignity of the enrolled students. This critical situation underscored Nigeria’s broader education crisis, exacerbated by poor infrastructure that contributes to the high number of out-of-school children.
Heroes-Help undertook comprehensive structural repairs, including roofing, floor and ceiling repairs, wall fixes, and the replacement of windows and doors, alongside comprehensive interior and exterior painting. The expected outcomes are a more conducive learning environment and improved morale and productivity for both students and teachers.
Dr. Adams emphasized the significance of the project, stating: A stable and inspiring school environment is crucial for academic and emotional development, especially for children of military personnel who often face unique challenges. This renovation is more than just a physical improvement; it is an investment in the future of military families and a strong message of support for those who serve our nation. This is a major milestone for us and the beginning of many more interventions to support the armed forces community.
